Cases
Format: Case name | [Year] | Court | Report. Example: R v Brown [1994] 1 AC 212. Italicise the case name.
Statutes
Format: Short title | year | section. Example: Human Rights Act 1998, s 6.
Books
Format: Author, Title (edition, publisher, year). Example: H L A Hart, The Concept of Law (3rd edn, OUP 2012).
Subsequent references
Use 'ibid' for an immediately repeated source; short-form ('Hart (n 5)') for non-consecutive repeats.
